Meetings

The Society meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from September through June. Meeting are held in the Cummings Room at the Buffalo Museum of Science, 1020 Humboldt Parkway, Buffalo New York. Once you enter the building turn left and go down the hall just past the grizzly bear. Meetings feature speakers on topics related to birds, and there are opportunities to share field experiences and sightings. These meetings are open to the public. Typically the first meeting of the month is a program meeting and the second meeting of the month is the business meeting.

October Count Analysis
January 11: BOS Meeting at 7:00 PM(NOTE TIME CHANGE)in the Cummings room of the Buffalo Museum of Science. Mike Hamilton will present details of the Buffalo Ornithological Society October 9th Count and discuss abundance trends. This discussion will be followed by a BOS business meeting.

Coordinating Grassland Bird Conservation in New York
January 25: BOS Meeting at 7:00 PM (NOTE TIME CHANGE)in the Cummings room of the Buffalo Museum of Science. Mike Morgan, Wildlife Ecologist for Audubon New York, will discuss Coordinating Grassland Bird Conservation in New York. He will talk about various aspects of grassland management, monitoring, and private lands conservation; as well as briefly discuss the link between this current effort and his master's research, and how that experience (funded in part by BOS) helped prepare him for this role of coordinating Audubon New York's new grasslands program.
