Meetings
The Society meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from September through June. Meeting are held in the Cummings Room at the Buffalo Museum of Science, 1020 Humboldt Parkway, Buffalo New York. Once you enter the building turn left and go down the hall just past the grizzly bear. Meetings feature speakers on topics related to birds, and there are opportunities to share field experiences and sightings. These meetings are open to the public. Typically the first meeting of the month is a program meeting and the second meeting of the month is the business meeting.

September 27: BOS Meeting at 7:30 PM in the Cummings room of the Buffalo Museum of Science. Emma E. DeLeon will discuss Using Bioacoustic Techniques to Study Avian Migration. She will also present this study at the Fourth North American Ornithological Conference in Veracruz, Mexico on October 3-7 this year.

Incidentally, Barbara Walker is no longer able to compile Section 14 for any of the counts so we need to find a replacement for her. Any volunteers?

BOS Meeting
October 11: BOS Meeting at 7:00 PM in the Cummings room of the Buffalo Museum of Science. Mike Hamilton will present the results of the 2006 Annual Buffalo Ornithological Society April Count focusing on species abundance changes from 1935 to the present. Dr. Robert DeLeon will interpret the result of the 2006 Annual BOS May Count in comparison with the 70 years of data in the Buffalo Ornithological Society May Count data base.

BOS Meeting
October 25: BOS Meeting at 7:00 PM in the Cummings room of the Buffalo Museum of Science. Jean Iron will discuss Shorebird Identification and show photos to illustrate the identification, molts, plumages, aging and the southbound migration of juvenile and adult shorebirds in Ontario (including the shorebird hotspots on Lake Erie). She will also discuss her two shorebird surveys on James Bay with the Ministry of Natural Resources.
